There are events you attend, and then there are evenings you remember. Once again, Venero Capital Advisors brought together over 80 of the brightest minds in business for our latest Visionary Voices dinner reception in London: an intimate yet vibrant gathering of CEOs, founders, and investors united by a shared appetite for meaningful conversation and genuine connection.
A Room Full of Perspective
From the moment guests arrived, the energy in the room was unmistakable. New faces mixed with familiar ones, introductions gave way to deep-dive discussions, and the evening quickly took on the feeling of a conversation that happened to be very well catered.
Attendees represented a broad cross-section of the business world: founder-led growth companies, established corporates, private equity professionals, and VCs. That diversity of background is what makes Visionary Voices what it is.
The Conversations That Mattered
Several themes emerged throughout the evening:
Market Conditions & the M&A Outlook
With deal activity continuing to evolve against a backdrop of rate uncertainty and shifting valuations, guests exchanged candid views on where opportunities lie and what's holding some transactions back. There was cautious optimism in the room, and a sense that well-structured deals with clean fundamentals are finding their buyers, while patient sellers are being rewarded.
AI: Threat, Opportunity, or Both?
Inevitably, AI dominated several conversations. The consensus was that AI is already changing how businesses operate. Businesses integrating AI thoughtfully are pulling ahead, and investors are taking notice.
What Investors Look For
Away from the headlines, investors at the event were refreshingly direct about their priorities: quality of earnings, management depth, recurring revenue, and the ability to articulate a credible growth story with defensibility vs. AI challengers. Multiples may have compressed in some sectors, but conviction capital is still moving, albeit more selectively.
The Human Side of Deals
Perhaps the most resonant thread of the evening was the reminder that both VC investing and M&A are, at their core, all about the people. The best transactions happen when founders and investors / buyers are aligned not just on terms, but on vision and even personality.
Why These Evenings Matter
Venero's Visionary Voices series was born from a simple belief: that the most valuable conversations in business rarely happen in conference rooms. They happen over dinner, between the first glass and the last, when people feel comfortable enough to speak candidly about what they are seeing, what they are building, and what keeps them up at night.
Each event brings together people who are actively involved in transactions, building businesses of scale, or deploying capital thoughtfully. The result is a room where every conversation has the potential to spark something: a new relationship, a fresh perspective, or the early seeds of a transaction.
When bright minds come together, good things come to be.
To everyone who joined us, thank you. If you missed it, you can request an invitation here.
